It will not have escaped your notice that afors has introduced a £10.00 charge for New Users
This is to cover the costs of introducing a new postCard validation system.
Registrants will be sent a postCard, to their address, The Post card will have a unique validation code, which has to be input to the system, to be fully validated.
This perhaps extraordinary step was not taken lightly.
It is to help eliminate scammers, who I am pleased to report, seem to have moved on to easier targets.
Users still get the three free credit system. They will also get an extra two paid credits once they validate.
Some existing users wished to re-register, but of course, the system wouldn't let them, as they were already there.
To cater for that, I have created a new form for existing users.
You will need to log in to see it, that's to prevent unregistered users from seeing it by accident.
Existing users do NOT need to "validate" as many have been with me for years and are trusted. However, I will be marking the adverts as user Validated, or not validated, so in time, it will be good for everyone to do it.
The existing user address form is here Create a validation code (£10.00)
I am delighted to report, that the new user sign-up rate has remained steady, and that many existing users have also validated. The only real difference is a pleasing one. The number of rejected sign-ups has reduced to zero.
If you have used the new site, you may have noticed the little person Icon, next to your name on the top right of the page.
If you click him, you will get the address form.
Once you fill in and send off your address, if you click him again, you will get the form for entering the validation code from the postcard.
Everybody who has gone through the new system by 29th April, will be entered into a prize draw. The draw will be take in public view, at the Popham Fly-in and Microlight trade fair on 30 April.
It is my intention to conduct a similar prize draw, on a regular rolling basis, for new validations, perhaps waiting till Sywell (1,2,3 September 2017) for the next draw.
Thanks for reading this far.
