Pitts S1C For Sale £34,500. Price Dropped United Kingdom
Pitts S1C £34,500.00
Hi and thanks for looking at our Pitts S1C, sale price £36.500,00
This is the best Pitts S1C on the planet, I and the other syndicate members purchased this aircraft around 2 years ago as we wanted to upgrade from our other single seater biplane. This Pitts S1 was half the plane it is now when we bought it and was simply and standard Pitts S1C with a few issues that needed sorting.
Since we purchased G-BRAA we have upgraded the electrical system by removing the ancient Nav Com, fuse panel and gauges from the floor-mounted central panel, fitting a new 8.33khz spacing TRIG panel-mount radio and switch/fuse panel now integrated into the left instrument panel. AA now has a new Comant antenna fitted to the belly of the plane. These changes make room for and save weight for our Smoke System Helper dual injecting smoke system with a panel-mounted On/Off switch. We have also fitted as you will see from the pictures a new full canopy and windscreen from Steen Aero Labs (the current holder of the Pitts’ franchise). The Modifications for these upgrades have been approved by the LAA and according to the LAA Mods list, appears to be the only UK S1C to be fitted with an approved canopy Modification.
The original propeller was found to be delaminated and therefore we fitted a brand-new Hercules propeller that has less than 10 hours’ time. It is finished in gloss white with red tips, matching the AA’s colours that really set the plane apart from others, especially when it’s going down the runways at 160kts!
AA is fitted with an O320 A2B 150hp Lycoming engine with only 250hour since complete overhaul. It has an inverted oil system with a Bendix PS-5C pressure carburettor that permits continuous inverted flight and zero potential for carburettor icing, regardless of power setting. Recent compression tests showed 77/80, 78/80, 77/80 & 77/80. The 45amp alternator ensures sufficient power for the panel-mount radio and the minimum 9psi electric fuel pump; the previous wobble pump was deemed to be inadequate if it was ever needed.
A new Andair gascolator allows proper inspection of the fuel. The tail-wheel has been refurbished with new bushes and bearings to the swivel with the tail-wheel mount spring reshaped to the correct curvature and re-tempered by a specialist company.
Following reweighing, a new W&B schedule and satisfactory flight testing including aerobatic flight tests, AA was issued with a new Permit at the end of last year, renewal date 3.12.19.
AA comes with a full set of heavyweight tailored covers that fully protect all 4 wing upper surfaces and the fuselage, nose cowling to the complete empennage.
