Zenair Zodiac CH601HD G-ZENR fitted with Rotax 912S 100hp engine. For sale with great regret due to unforeseen change in financial circumstances. Hours Airframe: 292, Engine: 260.
Very responsive, short takeoff and landing, dramatic rate of climb and all-round visibility, suitable for operation from short farm strips as will as tarmac runways. Cheap to operate on an LAA permit.
Originally built with an 80hp Rotax 912 but upgraded by a previous owner to a low hours 100hp Rotax 912S from a Europa for exceptional performance. Engine recently stripped and checked by ex-Rotax Austria engineer Kevin Dilks (http://www.specialaviationservices.co.uk/).
The aircraft is fitted with a standard centre fuel tank and wing baggage lockers. White with red markings and appropriate out-of-sequence registration G-ZENR. Empty Weight is 649lb/294kg, Fuel Capacity is 65 Litres, Full Fuel is therefore 103lb/47kg, MTOW is 1200lb/544KG, Useful Load is therefore 448lb/203kg. Given that I myself weight about 120kg, this aircraft was one of the few in it's class that met my weight requirements.
Would recommend purchaser to undergo short type conversion training with Gary unless familiar with type due to low weight and high performance but once familiar, a very straightforward aircraft to fly.
To be sold with a new LAA Permit to Fly. Permit work now completed by Gary Johnson (J.M.S. Aero, Zenair UK, http://zenair-uk.weebly.com) and aircraft located at Main Hall Farm, Conington, Cambs ready to fly, for viewing and demonstration by Gary by arrangement.
Much of the original build documentation available.
Asking ?20K ovno.
If genuinely interested please contact me, Andrew on 07402 630808 or Gary on 01487 812308, or ask a question here.
NB: This is a Group A aircraft, NOT a microlight. Several people have asked me if the aircraft can be registered as a microlight. According to the LAA Type Acceptance Sheet "The CH 601HD and HDS are SEP Aeroplanes and cannot be a microlight. The CH 601UL is a lightweight microlight variant of the CH 601HD, previously produced by CZAW."
