I'm selling my beloved Mainair Flash 2 Flexwing Microlight.
I bought Victor Victor in 2006 and finished off my training on her. I've only flown around 25 hours since I bought her.
This machine has lots of documented history and was virtually rebuilt from scratch after the previous owner damaged it after hitting power lines. I love this machine and have flown it in some quite challenging conditions with no problems whatsoever. The Flash 2 has had a bad press over the years, mainly due to rubbish pilots trying to push the envelope. This example is lovely and docile with no divergent tendencies. As with all Flash 2s, there is a pronounced stall if you stall it in a turn but otherwise, it's a fantastic flying wing.
The trike and wing have been stored in a converted caravan since the last permit ran out on 20 June 2009. I've not had the time or the money to re-permit since then and I've been meaning to sort it out every summer since then. The engine has been run pretty regularly since then, probably once every couple of months or so. The wing has some stains on the leading edge and a mouse got into the padding and also chewed a small hole in the wing fabric which I've shown in one of the photos. This can be patched easily as its more than 100mm from the trailing edge. I'm also including a used sail from a Flash2 G-MTEJ which is a bit faded but only 464 hours and loads of life left in it yet. The old Mainair sails last for ever! Also the zip on the port side inspection flap will need replacing which isn't a big job either.
I'm trying to be as honest as possible and would love to see this machine flying again.
