Three-axis Microlights, For Sale | CFM, Shadow CD | 6k or 5k
This is an advert for my much loved and cared for 1996 CFM Shadow, c/n 245. She''''s a very low time (217 hours engine and airframe), always-hangared, dual control example with a paint job that''''s always remarked on as being strikingly pretty. The build quality is first rate and she''''s a fully sorted ship that''''s ready to fly you places at 65kts and 11 lph, giving you four hours flying in complete comfort from the custom-made seats. The visibility is unparalled and the cockpit comfortable, cosy and draught free, with easy, relaxed, hands-off flying.
The Rotax 503 dual ignition engine was given a top-end overhaul 17 hours ago and always produces high revs and max power, never missing a beat. The gearbox was overhauled at the same time, not that it needed it, and the prop has been recently balanced. She has new nosewheel suspension, new Regulator/Rectifier and carburettor boots, new large diameter fuel lines and breather pipes and a convenient 12v aux socket for your GPS. The fuel is premix and the start is manual to save weight, but both can be changed if preferred. Permit renewal is due in May 2015 and Weight & Balance due in 2016.
The fabric and structure are truly excellent and she''''s not had any crashes, collisions, or heavy landings - not surprising since Shadows are sooooo easy and safe to fly....arguably the safest aircraft available since they do not stall or spin, even when provoked, and they glide so well that they can be thermalled at tickover. She''''s just fantastic to fly - flattering and confidence inspiring but huge fun at the same time.
She will come equipped with an Icom A22 radio which has VOR navigation, Comunica noise-cancelling headsets and a voice-activated interface between pilot and passenger. The PTT and trim buttons are on the control stick. There are also Maintenance and Build Manuals and a Pilot''''s Handbook for the aircraft.
The icing on the cake is the fact that she has a pair of recently fitted colour-matched ''''Jedi'''' aluminium fuel tanks of 50+ litres capacity to replace the o/e fibrelam tanks. These alone are worth over 1500 and remove all worries about fibrelam leakages with Mogas. She also has a David Cook undercarriage - universally acknowledged to be the best.
The price for my baby is therefore 6k or 5k if you want to have her with fibrelam tanks...it''''s your choice!
