WINGLAND WACKY WEEKEND 2015
“What did the Romans ever do for us..?” I hear you say...
Well they gave us Latin for one thing, so as they used to say back in the Legion “TEMPUS FUGIT”. Preparations are mostly finalised, and the curtain comes up on the “Weird and Wonderful” WINGLAND WACKY WEEKEND 2015 a fortnight Saturday on the 6th of June.
(...which is co-incidentally the 71st anniversary of yet another historic event in our heritage).
This year is going to be a landmark event as it is going to be our first INTERNATIONAL event, with participants already booked in coming from many different countries. For those yet to confirm, please let us know your nationality so we can have your flag ready.
Also, to ensure we enjoy the best weather, and to give our guests the best chance of great flying we are going to hold the event over TWO weekends, 6th/7th & 13th/14th June, plus further flying during the included week to give our more intrepid and adventurous aviators the best opportunity to perfect and play with their creations.
For those who have yet to experience the joys of the "Wingland Wacky Weekend" you might get a flavour from the attached pictures and the video link here:-

Basically, ANYTHING that flies is welcome to come, so whether you have computer vectored something made of carbon fibre and depleted uranium, or you have a plank some nails and a bag of feathers, you are most welcome to come along (or just come along to watch the fun!).
Paramotors, Gyroplanes, Helicopters and conventional aircraft are most welcome to come along too, so whether you have a flexwing, an Auster (or a twin Otter?), we would love to have you. Just remember the runways are only 250m long and at 251m there are dykes.
(anybody got a Zeppelin or Ekranoplan..??)
Early arrivals from Thursday on are most welcome, and it is only £5 per adult to attend (yup, we promised it would always stay affordable!), and for those who have a business or product that they would like to display and sell, it is only £20 for a tradestand.
You wont be surprised to learn that the likes of P&M, EgO, Pipistrelle and Rotax are not planning to exhibit, but then of course, raw seat of the pants stuff is not really their kind of thing. This one is for the purists, the innovators, (and of course the criminally insane..).
Now for the freebies...
Kids are FREE!, Camping is FREE!, Landing fees are FREE!, Bouncy Castle is FREE!, Entertainment (hopefully 2 rock bands) FREE! and if we have time to cook the Chilli on Saturday night, that is FREE! as well. - Just bring your own beer, but there will be a bar as well if you run out.
PLUS- THIS YEAR ONLY, WE ARE GIVING AWAY 12 MONTHS FREE ASSOCIATE MEMBERSHIP TO EVERY ENTRANT!!
So shove the dates in your diaries, load your trikes with a tent, your guitar, and as much beer as will stay within the MTOW, pop the co-ordinates in the Skydemon and follow the flock.
For those who cannot come by air, and those with large families, you are of course most welcome to arrive by road. If you are bringing a caravan or camper as well, just let us know so we can make sure there is a pitch for you.
