WINGLAND WACKY WEEKEND 2016 - 10th-12th June!!
A big shout out to all the intrepid aviators of Europe, the 4th annual WINGLAND WACKY WEEKEND is all set to take place on the 9th-12th of June!
Following the success of last years event (our first genuinely International), we welcome the participation of all our overseas particpants new and old to come and celebrate with us this mega-cool event that everybody is talking about.
This years events will be taking place over 3 days Friday 10th June - Sunday 12th June, and as usual, is open to all (we have no "them and us" mentality here). Basically, ANYTHING that flies is welcome to come, so whether you have computer vectored something made of carbon fibre and depleted uranium, or you have a plank some nails and a bag of feathers, you are most welcome to come along (or just come along to watch the fun!).
Paramotors, Gyroplanes, Helicopters and conventional aircraft are most welcome to come along too, so whether you have a flexwing, an Auster (or a twin Otter?), we would love to have you. Just remember the runways are only 250m long and at 251m there are dykes.
(still no sign of that elusive Zeppelin or Ekranoplan, but we live in hope...).
The WINGLAND WACKY WEEKEND is not just another "fly-in", this one is an event where you can really have fun, where the innovators can share their ideas, (and of course the criminally insane can try out their crazy ideas..).
Event prices are:-
Adults - £5
Vans, Caravans and Campers (inc all occupants) - £20
Trade stands (the cheapest in the country) - £20
ALL PROCEEDS (not just a small percentage) GO TO MACMILLAN NURSES AND THE AIR AMBULANCE.
Now for the freebies...
Kids are FREE!
Camping is FREE!
Landing fees are FREE!
Entertainment (not sure what yet) FREE!
Chilli supper on Saturday night (assuming Tim and Jenny can get away to cook it) - that is FREE! as well.
- Just bring your own beer (Tesco''''''''s/Garage run to purchase Beer and Fuel arranged for those flying in).
So shove the dates in your diaries, load your trikes with a tent, your guitar (and maybe your partner...), pop the co-ordinates in the Skydemon and follow the flock.
For those who cannot come by air, and those with large families, you are of course most welcome to arrive by road as usual. If you are bringing a caravan or camper as well, try to let us know in good time let us know so we can make sure there is a pitch for you.
