For Sale 1982 Slingsby T67a Firefly 2 seat light aircraft
The aircraft is for sale at £15,000 or 3 x ¼ shares at £4,000 each
The T67a is the original wood and fabric version which became the composite T67b to m models used as a primary trainer by a number of air forces. Handles extremely well and is aerobatic: it will do most basic manoeuvres including Loop, Slow Roll, Stall Turn, Immelmann Turn, Barrel Roll, Porteous Loop, Cuban/Reverse Cuban 8’s and is cleared for spinning. If required instruction can be arranged at Blackpool Airport.
It is an absolute delight to fly and cheap to operate. Outstanding views with a bubble canopy and joystick control.
The airframe has flown 4,879 hours since new but has no life limitation as a wood structure. The engine is operating ‘on condition’ hence the very low price for an aerobatic aeroplane but is well maintained and in good condition.
It would suit a qualified pilot who wanted to develop better handling skills on an aeroplane which handles superbly or who has an interest in learning aerobatics. It would also suit someone wanting to build hours at a low cost and high enjoyment or makes an excellent group aeroplane with low operating costs.
All original Log books, service history and manuals held.
ARC renewed April 2017 with 10 months/98 hours remaining.
Alternatively 3 x ¼ shares are available at £4,000 each, £150/month including hangarage and insurance and £20/hour dry. Based Blackpool. We have successfully operated this aeroplane for years without a need for big monthly maintenance contributions with no major expenses that we couldn’t cover on an ongoing basis. Always hangared, the aeroplane is in good condition, around 7-8 out of 10 externally.
This is an excellent opportunity to own a genuinely aerobatic aeroplane, properly maintained and cherished by its current owners.
