This beautiful CAP 232 after just nine hours was completely overhauled in 2001 with many improvements to produce probably the best 232 ever built. The French engineer / unlimited level pilot had the overhaul carried out so that the aircraft was the lightest and most competitive aircraft possible.
It was fitted with many certified modifications in preparation for the free program and international aerobatics championships with the French National Team. The emphasis was on high power to weight ratio and so, along with the extensive weight saving measures the engine was modified to produce 340 HP. In addition there were mods to the engine to enable resilience to gyroscopic figures - this being an extra crankshaft bearing.
All AD's and SB's completed, Cap fuselage mod carried out, Annual to December 2017, New 50Hrs / six month check, Airframe total 395 hrs, Engine 395 hrs, Prop 2.5 hrs SMOH, Special engine AEIO 540 L1BD5D dyno tested to 340HP, balanced crankshaft and rods,Lycoming SI 1354B mod for extra crank bearing, special exhaust system, intake ports and pipes polished, fine wire iridium plugs, light starter, light flywheel, light alternator, very light (titanium) firewall, Prop MT four blades, King radio KY 97A, electronic g meter, Trigg TT21 transponder, Kelly MFG digital horizon, Garmin GPSMAP 495, Carbon seat plug, special carbon sight gauges, Hooker five point harness. Total weight just 599 kgs.
