Re-advertised, now with a year's permit.
If you’re looking for a low-hours hangar queen, this is not the aircraft for you. If you’re looking for a fast, reliable tourer with a 100bhp engine and lots of accessories, this might be.
Airframe hours: 1845
Engine hours: 1935
Prop hours: approx. 300
Built: 2004 (kit-built, so an LAA microlight)
Permit until 17 March 2023
I bought G-IKUS three years ago, and have really enjoyed owning it, having flown almost 300 hours in it. I have just bought a Pioneer 300, or I would have kept this one for a few more years.
It comes with a full year's permit. The engine had a 200-hour service by a local inspector/engineer in January 2022. This means there’s nothing to do but fly it for the next year or so.
Last summer, I had the sprag clutch replaced by Gary Masters, and also had the starter motor replaced with a genuine Rotax unit. Compressions were checked during the recent service – 150 on two cylinders and 155 on the other two. Fuel pipes and some rubber oil pipes have been replaced within the last two years. The main tube was replaced shortly before I bought it.
I normally cruise it at 80 knots, with a fuel burn of about 15 litres an hour. Cruise rpm is about 4100 solo and 4300-4400 two-up.
I’ve added more than £5000 worth of accessories to make flying easier and safer. Full spec:
