My name is David Barden and I am selling my rather wonderful Letov Sluka SSDR. It really is a wonderful aeroplane but I want to move onto something with two seats as I've somehow convinced my SO to go flying with me. Asking for £5,000 but welcome to offers.
It was originally an LAA aircraft turned SSDR.
It has been gone over by the chaps at Sywell with the previous owner.
It is fitted with Rotax 447 air cooled 2 stroke which is its self fitted with a wonderful starter motor. It was fitted by myself and comes with keys and a starter switch that turns red when the starter is live. The current setup uses a LiPo battery that only weighs about 200g and on a full charge will start the aircraft over 100 times. Can be changed to a lead acid battery but I'd highly recommend keeping it as is as its just so light weight. The battery and charger for battery will be included with the aircraft (along with instructions of proper use)
The 447 engine has done 296-39 hours and minuets.
The airframe has done 296-24 hours and minuets.
So, a below 300 hrs aircraft that's had a rather easy life.
Our resident senior BMMA inspector also very kindly did a Betts test on the skins to a load equal to that of a new Skyranger and it "passed with flying colours".
For easy hangarage it has its own dedicated trolley that can roll the aircraft in sideways.
Its a beautiful little plane, a joy to fly, and terribly quiet. Having seen it fly a few times myself with the previous owner, it can sneak up on you a bit.
I'm a relatively low hours pilot and this aircraft is so forgiving it was almost carefree when flying it. It would bruise beautifully at around 60mph with me in it, which will get you places on its 30L fuel tank.
All around a wonderful aircraft that will be missed.
