Sky Arrow 650 TC
The Sky Arrow is almost entirely made of carbon fibre in epoxy resin. Its high wing and T-tail characteristics make for a very stable and easy flying platform and because it’s fitted with full dual controls it can be used for pilot training.
This is a beautiful & efficient aircraft for recreational flying where the fighter jet like cockpit and glass canopy allow an incredible all-round view complete with comfortable tandem seats (and arm rest sides) to help you enjoy your travels.
The 650 TC is a certified aircraft with the 80hp Rotax previously fitted, but a 100hp Rotax engine can be installed if preferred. The aircraft is very practical for touring and even has storage space behind the rear seat for up to 30kg luggage.
The sleek and stylish Sky Arrow aircraft has been designed and manufactured in Italy by 3I (now owned by Magnaghi Aeronautica) and this example has the uniquely appropriate registration G-ROME as it was manufactured in Rome!
Registration: G-ROME Year of manufacture: 1999
Serial Number: C011
Total Hours: Airframe 1222 hrs / Engine xxx hrs
Engine: ROTAX 912-S2 (out of time & hours in 2010 - engine now removed so not included) Propeller: Hoffmann fixed pitch 2 blade
I’m the 3rd owner (purchased in Feb 2020), and the previous owner since Dec 1999 was the UK Sky Arrow importer. Always hangered and it’s been in dry storage since the 2010 expiry of the certificate of airworthiness.
It’s awaiting recommisioning with the wings alongside in a wing-rack as can be seen in the photos. At less than 400kg as it stands and with the T-tail that can be removed, it can easily be trailer transported by the new owner. There is a crate full of logbooks, manuals and other paperwork to explain the life story of the aircraft, as well as some spare parts.
Genuine reason for sale as I purchased a tandem 2 seater microlight to suit my missions and I can’t justify holding on to G-ROME any longer!
To purchase a new certified Sky Arrow is now likely approaching £200K! Here is an opportunity to acquire a complete Sky Arrow requiring some TLC, a replacement engine and an annual inspection to restore to flying condition for a mere fraction of that price tag.
Due to the time since the last CofA it will need a fresh battery, an updated 8.33 vhf radio, possibly new tyres although they hold air. You’ll have to work through the maintenance manual to ensure compliance but a carbon fibre aircraft like this can last a lifetime and provide decades of enjoyment.
I would love to see her flying again, so optimistic offers around £9500 will be considered from serious buyers.
Following various calls from interested buyers from the Netherlands, Austria, USA and the UK I photographed the logbooks and some other information which I can email after a chat to help you understand the history.
Overseas transport complications seems to be the barrier and keeping it in the UK at the moment, so have another look and please feel free to contact me with any questions or to arrange a viewing. Barney @ 0781 773 7506
