Recently completed CH601 HDS - 1st permit issued March 23. To date 17.5 hours T/time airframe, but building as the weather permits. Test flying and most of the proving / shake down flights done and the handling is superb. Rotax 912ULS also 17.5hrs SMOH after major service by Kevin Dilks at SAS. Engine 1414 hours T/time. Ignitech programable ignition modules - replacing those temperamental Rotax condenser units- have soft start function built in. Woodcomp Klassic 170/3 prop set to give staggering acceleration and great climb performance but easily – ground adjustable for cruise performance. Long range wing tanks – 4 hours at 120kts is more than my bladder can stand. External 4 head “SuperNova JSP460” programable flash pattern strobes and Landing light. ‘FAST HARE’ paintwork and upholstery by the Ministry of Upholstery, Manchester.
Basic flight instruments are supplemented by MGL Vega EMS-! https://www.parts4aircraft.com/mglvega-ems-1-engine-monitor and Stratomaster FF-1 (black and white version of https://www.parts4aircraft.com/mgl-vega-ff-4-fuel-computer). TQ KTR2 transceiver (integrated intercom) installed together with the wiring and aerial for a second portable radio. TQ KTX 2 transponder (wired for RS232 ADSB inputs)
A/c is currently based at Wickenby and is building hours as the weather permits, this was a bucket list build for me but now it is time to do another project. The handling really is fantastic, it is a pocket rocket for half the costs of a C150.
