Price reduced! Because there are lots of Thrusters on Afors at the moment, however this one is the best :-)
Thruster T600T 582
Approx 670 hours total time
30 ish hours since engine overhaul (Malcolm Howland), total engine time around 400 hours (also overhauled at 260 hours).
Brolga prop
Electric start
Flys nicely, starts and runs well. 5200 rpm = 50 knots, approx 15-18 litres/hour in the cruise. Stall at 30kt. Good light/nimble handling, aircraft is great fun for 'bimbling'.
Good recent Ultralam / XLAM skins (fitted in 2007, 150 hours flown since then). Always hangared.
This was originally a 503 (and is still on G-INFO as such), however was upgraded to a blue-top 582 in 2009. All paperwork correct.
390 kg model. Empty weight 219kg with doors etc in place. Recent re-weigh.
In response to a few recent questions: Aircraft + full fuel + 90kg pilot = 337kg ish, allowing 53kg for passenger. Obvs there is a fuel/weight trade-off but this won't (legally) fly with two large adults on board. Runway needed is about 300m grass. There are no brakes (and never have been). Aircraft stops fairly quickly once tail is down on soft grass. Dry / hard surfaces will require more distance.
Permit to October 2024
Good tyres
Recently re-wired throughout.
New carb rubbers.
No significant corrosion or any known issues.
Liberally doused with ACF-50
Comes with icom hand held 8.33 radio - works well. Powered from cigar lighter socket.
Has switched 12V sockets for GPS / phone etc.
I have a few spares (tyres, top end gasket set). Also comes with a 2 place intercom - takes standard GA plugs.
Great aircraft, cheap to own and run. Can be SSDR'd if you wish. It never has been so you can be assured it has been overseen by BMAA throughout its life. Insurance (as 2 seat microlight) is £150 ish per year via BHPA scheme.
Kept at Priory farm on Norfolk / Suffolk border. Local inspector available to assist if required.
Reason for sale - I have almost no time for flying so don't need outright ownership and can't justify cost of hangarage (available at Priory Farm for very reasonable rate if required!). May consider swap for something that doesn't need a hangar (like a folding wing thing, or Landrover etc., though I probably shouldn't..)
£4800 secures a lot of fun flying. Why not 'upgrade' from a spam-can for a fraction of the cost of GA flying !?
