A one-sixth share is available in our 1952 Chipmunk, G-ULAS (WK517) based at Compton Abbas.
G-ULAS is a well maintained aircraft, with a current CofA in November 2023. The current syndicate has operated the aircraft for the last two years. All TNS checks are up to date.
In RAF service WK517 was the first Chipmunk delivered to RAF College Cranwell, and is the only Chipmunk known to have flown with all three services. She took part in the 1977 Queen’s Silver Jubilee flypast, and flew thousands of Air Cadets until retired from the RAF in 1997.
We are a friendly syndicate with a passion for aviation and a wealth of experience. Compton Abbas airfield is a fantastic grass airfield to operate from, and its new owner is investing significantly in supporting vintage aviation. The aircraft typically flies about 120 hours a year so availability is excellent. Syndicate members enjoy aerobatics, formation flying, and visiting aviation events and airshows in the aircraft. Minimum requirements are 200 hours total time and 10 hours on tailwheel aircraft.
