Quantum 15 912 80hp – Hampshire
UPDATE: Price dropped to £3000 as this aircraft needs to go to a new home and to reflect the need for a new permit.
This Quantum comes in a unique Union Jack colour scheme and was originally registered BYNO and owned by Graham Slater (GS Aviation). Totally rebuilt in 2011, the aircraft had fitted in the region of 90% new parts and a replacement engine and new wing. A real head turner and a cracking aircraft to fly and operate.
The engine was rebuilt 271hrs ago by W Sherlock and included the following work: Topend service including gearbox shock load, valves re-lapped, cylinders honed and crankshaft checked. It’s also had all mandatory mods, including new fuel pump as per the bulletin. Recently fitted new engine mounts and bottom drain fuel valve.
Wing has 271 hrs on it and has always been hangered rigged in a water tight hangar with no UV exposure. New baton elastics all round and in top condition, still taught skin and no vices.
Total hours:
Airframe: 1893
Engine: 2021 (271 since service)
Wing: 271
Hours may be high but this lovely machine is priced to sell as I am unfortunately relocating and can’t take her with me. Permit does however expire 27/8 so this will need to be renewed. Cliff Sims has always inspected the aircraft and is very familiar with it having done the permits over the last decade. I have no appetite to pay the BMAA for membership to obtain new permit paperwork but am happy to co-ord Cliff being on-site if you don’t have a suitable experienced inspector or set of eyes. I can get the permit renewed to the point of ground inspection (Cliff) and test flight but I am not minded to pay the BMAA for the privilege of obtaining the paperwork when I would have otherwise paid the inspection costs (a further reason why I am leaving the sport).
Please don’t get in touch to haggle, she’s priced to sell and a lovely aircraft. Come see her if you’re interested.
