Auster D4/ 108. G-ARLG 1961
A rare opportunity to acquire a unique Auster.
Built by Beagle Auster Aircraft Ltd in 1961. It is the only one of its type ever built, and is based on the Portuguese military D4 model.
G-ARLG was the first Auster to be placed on a permit in 1984 and this is the first time in 40 years it is being offered for sale.
It is fitted with a Lycoming O-235-C1 engine. In 2018 the engine itself was completely rebuilt with 303 hours amassed since this time. It is economical, burning 24-27 litres per hour and can be run lean. Preferred fuel 91UL but can also use 100LL and Mogas if alcohol (Ethanol) free. It burns very little oil being a rebuilt engine.
The cockpit retains its historic patina while still managing to fit Trig TT21 8.33 KHz radio and TY91 transponder.
We have continuously maintained the aircraft and it is in excellent mechanical condition.
We hold all the history documents with original logs from 1961.
A simple search on the web will show how popular this aircraft is.
The aircraft is being listed at £27,000
