We thought we had a buyer for it, but it's back on the market...
This 1988 aeroplane belongs to a friend of mine in ill health, and we would like to see it go to a new home. In America they would be a $25-35,000 USD aeroplane as they are fast, economical to run and maintain and capable of gentle aerobatics. There have been some in the UK on permits, it's up to you how to figure that one out.
The aircraft is in Ireland, hangared at Abbeyshrule. The last flight was on the 9th of May 2021 and the ILAS permit is expired. This is an easy aeroplane to move by road, as the wheels remain on and the wings come off outboard. As a child I remember the builders who were local legend engineers, taxiing the aircraft down the road for it's first flight in 1988. The aircraft graced every airshow at Abbeyshrule, was a regular at the PFA Rally's and in a world where men were men and could fly an NDB approach off the local radio transmitter this aeroplane was ace. The current times are:
618hrs TTAF
AF SN 2-582
Lycoming O-320-E2A
SN 1708427
618hrs Since Strip and Engine Rebuild (not OH)
2365hrs SMOH
Sensenich 74D65S-2-66
SN K34414
The panel has basic radios, and I'm sure the next owner will upgrade them for 8.33Khz and Mode S compliance. There's a KX-175B Nav Com with Nav Indicator, 12F ADF with Davtron Indicator that I'm sure you will find some Aer Lingus pilot did his IR with 30 years ago! The aircraft is hangared, has logs and there is help available to move it. The last thing we want is to sell it to someone with no hours/experience and for them to have a bad time with it. It's not a difficult type, just a world away from what they fly in schools. We can arrange some check-out time on type with another local CH type and CRI. A harmonious sale and a happy new owner is what we want.
To someone who is half the engineer the builder was, they will see this as a very solid place to start from. Any questions, send me a message or call.
