de Havilland DH82A Tiger Moth G-ANDP Project
I purchased this aircraft from Northern Ireland where it had a disagreement with a hedge on a small farm strip. I transported it to the north east and set about sourcing the necessary parts for the rebuild. The damage was to the tips of the propeller, wings and undercarriage - the fuselage being untouched. The aircraft received an extensive overhaul in 2016 so was in very good condition prior.
Parts that required repair / replacement were as follows;
- Replacement lower starboard and port mainplanes (assemblies sourced from Hodgeair Services Ltd, these have been completely overhauled and work has been overseen / released by an experience licenced engineer)
- Leading edge repair to upper starboard mainplane (carried out by the Midland Aeroplane Co)
- Propeller, a replacement unit has been sourced
Parts still to be sourced are for the undercarriage.

G-ANDP is finished in a striking red and silver scheme. The previous owner wanted to find a photograph of the aircraft in wartime, to which researchers said would be near impossible due to the shear number in service. However, they did manage to locate a photo of it in its camo scheme in the book of a Canadian Bomber pilot who had carried out his elementary flight training in it. I also understand it was test flown at the factory by Geoffrey de Havilland.
I am selling this project as I simply do not have the time to commit to getting it back in the air. You will see from the photos that G-ANDP was and could once again be a really tidy example.
