G-BMFN (FN) is an unusual aircraft. It was built in UK from a Q200 kit by EMK Aeroplane back in the mid 80'S. It first flew as a Taildragger in 1986. In 1987 it was modified into a TRI Q200 and was the first TRI Q200 to fly in the UK, being displayed at the PFA (LAA) Rally in 1988.
FN is 1 of only 2 UK built TRI Q200 versions that are still flying, peculiarly both started as Tail draggers and are now TriQ200s.
So this year is FN's 40th birthday, which happens to coincide with the LAA (PFA) 80th Anniversary rally. There has been 4 custodians over that time, each having made their mark. The current specification is fairly comprehensive with modern avionics and good instrumentation. (There are options to include further upgrades with minimal system impact subject to Mod approval).
Its iconic, unusual X Wing shape still gets a lot of attention.
Now is time for its next custodian to buy in and carry on its journey. Would suit someone with Light aircraft engineering background and who has capable piloting skills. Help with conversion is available. If you would like to see what its like to fly, watch the video (Link at the bottom of the advert).

A little background history on Quickies.
The Quickie Aircraft Corporation (QAC), a US Company, came about around 1978 when 3 guys thought it would be great to produce an aircraft shape inspired by Star Wars, which was then just recently released . The story goes that the first thoughts for the X Wing shape Quickie 1(single seater) were penned by Burt Rutan on a napkin for Tom Jewett and Gene Sheehan over coffee in the flight line cafe in Mojave. The 3 brought the Q1 to life and later Jewett and Sheehan derived the 2 seat Q2 and the Continental 0200 powered Q200. The Q1, Q2 and Q200 were all tail draggers. The Q200 was further derived by Scott Swing into the TRI Q200, with a tricycle landing gear configuration and a few other improvements.
