The Piper PA-28 is a renowned family of four-seat light aircraft manufactured by Piper Aircraft, designed for flight training, air taxi services, and personal use. These all-metal, unpressurized, single-engine piston aircraft feature low-mounted wings, tricycle landing gear, and a single door on the right side, accessed by stepping onto the wing.
As the fourth most-produced aircraft in history, the PA-28 series has been in continuous production since receiving its type certificate from the Federal Aviation Administration in 1960. In 1977, Piper upgraded the Warrior to the 160 hp (120 kW) PA-28-161, renaming it the Cherokee Warrior II. This version featured improved aerodynamic wheel fairings introduced in 1978.
G-CEIZ, manufactured in 1980, has a gross weight of 2,325 lbs (1,055 kg), providing an excellent useful load of over 800 lbs (379 kg). Unlike early Cherokees, which featured a constant-chord “Hershey Bar” wing, the Warrior introduced a semi-tapered wing design in 1974. This modification, incorporating the NACA 652-415 profile and an extended wingspan, improved stall characteristics, climb performance, and overall flight handling.
Notably, G-CEIZ has never been used for flight training and has always remained in private ownership. The Wing Spar AD was completed in 2023 during its Annual Inspection, ensuring compliance and peace of mind for its next owner.
