Cost and Benefits of Registration
To improve the security and integrity of afors, in addition to e mail validation, new members MUST validate their address and mobile phone number.
Membership is £10.00.
Upon registration, you will be allocated three complimentary credits and two paid credits, in exchange for the joining fee.
This will allow you to create an advert as soon as validation is complete.
Complimentary credits are reset to 3 each month, the credits are not cumulative. So you will have a maximum of 3 complimentary credits on your account at any one time.
This will allow you to place up to 3 adverts per month, or one advert, with two refreshes in the month. That is usually enough for most people.
Messaging
Members can make enquiries on any of the adverts using the new private messaging system, buyers and sellers can discuss their adverts using the PM system.
Afors will not reveal your e mail or phone number to users at any point, unless you place them directly in your advert or enquiry. The PM system is there to help.
users placing adverts have an advert control panel, where you can view a list of all your own adverts and create new ones, delete old ones update them or add pictures.
You will also be able to see and create Private Messages from the control panel.
Each advert, is allowed up to 15 pictures, each one up to 12Mbytes in size, this is a huge improvement over the old system.
There is also a unique, albeit experimental, user interface for creating the adverts and adding images, again, a huge improvement over the old system.
Validation of Registration
On successful completion of the registration form, the site will send you a verification e-mail.
The verification e-mail will contain a link, which you must follow by clicking through on.
This will 'Validate' your e-mail address.
Mobile phone validation
Once you validate your e mail, the site will text you a one time pass code, which you need to enter into a validation form, this will validate your mobile number.
Afors, will subsequently remember who you are. (much like amazon knows who you are), but it will log you out automatically after 30 minutes of inactivity.
Address validation
You also need to fill in your address.
Afors will subsequently send you a post-card, which has a one time validation code printed on it.
You will need to enter this code into the site, to fully validate your account.
I trust, that you will understand this is to protect everyone from potential scammers.
Benefits Fund
It wont be very much, but afors will place 50% of the profit generated by this new fee into a small fund, which will go towards promoting youths into flying, either by donating the money to the BMAA, LAAET , or directly to the YES group, or some other activity which promotes the sport.
