140A ?21995

1949 CESSNA 140A,believed one of only two in the UK.
This aircraft just flies so well and is an absolute pleasure to fly. It was used for a featured flight test in pilot magazine in June 07,and was given an excellent review by the very experienced Nick Bloom.
Since then in my ownership it has been significantly improved with a major overhaul costing around 16K,which include some fully approved subtle mods, which consist of charger air filter prop vortex kit and hoener wingtips.

This aeroplane performs exceptionally well on 90HP and operates comfortably from a 400yrd strip partly due to the fresh engine producing good power and the hoener wingtips, which reduce stall speed, sharpen aileron response and reduce drag, that coupled to the 140A's tapered wing design and up to 40 degree of flap make for good short field operation.
Economical@ 17-20ltrs an hr at 95-105 mph and STC'D for mogas, 4hrs endurance. "Stable yet responsive, the ideal combination" as Nick Bloom put it. Excellent view in the air and on the ground.
Condition mechanically & structurally is 100%, cosmetically I would describe her as "patina" good used condition, a fussy 6/10.
All paperwork is present and correct, all AD'S, STC'S,8130 FORMS COMPLIED with. I have all the original log books bills & history (first factory test flight logged 12th December 1949 and ferry flight to Texas Jan 1950) No expense has been spared and this aircraft wants for nothing. All work has been to the highest standard at aero maintenance Shobdon. Since I have owned her she has been cared for, warmed up and cooled down properly, flown and landed correctly, maintained to the enth degree and always hangered.
This is a genuinely delightful solid rugged aeroplane and a genuine reason for sale as I?ve bought a 170.I invite absolutely any inspection and can offer either a tail wheel or type conversion if required.(note this aircraft has not been used for training I have a friend who is an experienced tail wheel instructor. google James Peplow) I have tried to describe her as honestly and accurately as possible. I'm asking ?21995 and open to sensible offers. Any more info I?m sure there's more please ring mike on 07770 602 106
