Turbi group share or for sale outright

General information
The Druine D.5 Turbi was a light aircraft designed in France in the 1950s for home building. It was a low-wing cantilever monoplane with fixed tailskid undercarriage. The pilot and a single passenger sat in tandem, open cockpits. Essentially a scaled-up version of the Druine Turbulent design, the Turbi shared that aircraft's wooden construction. Again, like its predecessor, it was intended to be able to be powered by a variety of air-cooled engines.

This Turbi for sale was built between 1954 and 1958 by the DeHavilland apprentices at Hatfield. It was built originally with a Walker Micron 2 55horsepower, and in 1969 it was replaced by a Walker Micron 3 65horsepower and also the undercarriage was redesigned. A group at DeHavilland used to fly and maintain it through until 1996. In 1996 the fuselage was recovered and the airframe was checked and found to be in excellent condition. When Hatfield DeHavillands closed in 1996 it was then moved on to a group in Benington Airfield. I purchased it in 1999. It has been maintained in flying condition ever since.
It is a well balanced aircraft and is stable in the air. The fuselage fabric is very good. It has been hangared at all times and this has preserved the condition. It has been well looked after by a qualified engineer .
