HEED3 - Short Term Air Supply System - Ideal extra safety kit for flights over water.

www.heed3.com

Helicopter Emergency Egress Device 3 (HEED3) is a compact, lightweight and reliable self-contained breathing apparatus. Designed to increase the survivability of military and commercial personnel in short-term out-of-air emergencies.

#Provides lifesaving air needed to egress from a downed aircraft in water.
#Ideal for all helicopters, fixed wing, float planes which might experience an over-water emergency/ditching.
#Protects from inhaling dangerous and lethal toxic fumes from smoke or fire.
#Over 250,000 systems sold worldwide, with users including US Air Force, Army, Navy, Marines and Coast Guard.

Features:
#Regulator Body - Rugged design using proven technology found in typical regulators used by SCUBA divers globally. Always on, breathe on demand, balanced single stage regulator is easy to use, maintain and service. HEED3 can be used in any orientation.
#Pressure Indicator - Dial Gauge Pressure Indicator is easy to read and shows an accurate measurement of tank pressure.
#Purge Button - Clears the regulator and empties the Air Tank.
#Mouthpiece - Standard regulator mouthpiece.
#Check Valve - Removable cap and attach the Air Compressor adaptor (not included), or optional SCUBA Tank Refill Adaptor (not included) to fill HEED3 from an Air Compressor or SCUBA Tank.
#3000 PSI Aluminum Tank - Manufactured to same standards as SCUBA tanks and includes the same safety features.

This item has been carried on a few flights across the English Channel. It has not been used. It comes complete with mouthpiece cover and lanyard, and a printed copy of the 'Heed3 Technical / User Manual". The unit has recently had it's annual leak check and passed without problem. There is no damage to the unit, and it has always been carefully stored when not being carried in flight.

The unit is a not fully charged with air (due to an accidental press on the purge button - this can be used to clear the regulator and empty the air tank during maintenance and inspections). The unit currently reads 2400PSI out of a possible 3000PSI. I did not purchase the optional refill adaptors with the unit as my local Dive Shop were able to offer refills with their standard range of Air Fill equipment. I was able to get a complete refill for under ?10.00.
If required, refill adaptors (for SCUBA tank, or Air Compressor) can be purchased online via heed3.com (including a UK distributor).

This HEED3 cost ?180, plus shipping costs. I am asking ?69.95, plus P&P cost as agreed with purchaser.
