Super Koala, easy project! SOLD THANKS TO AFORS United Kingdom
A Fisher Super Koala, registration G-BUVL,is a high wing taildragger and looks like a Piper Cub with side by side seating. This aircraft is painted bright yellow as well !
A barn find/Estate Sale.
This aircraft was originally built in 1997 and flew with a Rotax engine. That proved a little underpowered and was replaced with a Jabiru 2200A engine which proved a lot better. The aircraft has flown a total of 65 hours and the Jabiru 48 hours. He was still experimenting with propellers, there are two almost new ones come with the project, when he put it into storage in 2003. (He had a large barn on his farm and it remained there until the end of last year when I bought it). All of the log books, plans, assembly manuals etc together with cowling moulds come with the aircraft.
Before buying it, I gave it a thorough inspection (I am a licensed engineer and LAA Inspector) and found no damage, rot, rodent or other damage - it is just very, very dirty! We dismantled it and brought it back to our hangar in East Sussex
So, it basically requires a thorough clean, inspection and reassembly of the airframe. You really ought to pull the cylinders (after all the engine hasn't run for 14 years), hone the bores, lap in the valves and fit a new ring set. A keen, and experienced home builder, could probably have it flying in around ten days. I'm looking for £4,000. David Hockings, 07710 329369 or email@example.com. Since we perform aircraft recoveries, we have facilities to deliver the aircraft at cost price.
I have loads of colour photos of it, flying and now dismantled in my hangar, but try though I might I cannot get any pics to load on here. Email me and I'll send them to you. David
