Make your Continental Engine Run Smoother and save fuel !
Continental engines
Hi Thank you for stopping by.
It is well known that small continental engines like A65 C85 C90 and O-200 have poor fuel mixture distribution which leads to an uneven running engine.
I have designed some new induction tubes that replace two of the original ones. Simple to fit, just fits between the rubber hoses as the original ones.
My mixture correction induction tubes (MCIT) makes the engine run smoother and can save fuel when leaned.
The main problem is the rear cylinders run richer than the front cylinders with the standard induction tube fitted, the rear rich cylinders do not combust evenly. Fitting the MCIT evens up the mixture across all cylinders. A more costly route is to fit a high end electronic ignition system to set fire to the rich mixture in the rear cylinders, however this masks the problem and does not resolves the issue.
The MCIT mod ensure the induction charge leaves the spider manifold sequentially (leg by leg) producing a rotational flow in the manifold. This rotational flow ensure that no induction pulses can upset the mixture ratio for the next induction charging cylinder.
If you fly behind a small continental engine and you wish to try out the mixture correction induction tubes then please get in contact with me.
The same issues existed with the Lycoming 4 cylinder enignes. If there was enough interest I could make MCIT for the Lycoming engine. Do you have a requirement ?
