MAI-890 18,000
Probably the nicest and prettiest available examples of one of these little Russian aircraft, and the third (award winning) one built by the owner.
Serial No 69 was originally on a UK test permit and bought from Britten Norman with just 20hrs logged. After years in dry storage, a new Blue-Top Rotax 582 c/w electric start & oil injection was fitted, stunning paint, and put on the Irish register as EI-FEU as a type A permit craft. Very low hours TT just 55.
Arplast composite ground adjustable prop. Take off roll is about 50m or less, and easilly operates out of unprepared fields with her titanium sprung legs and prop clearance. Cruise speed is 100km/hr and has incredible low speed maneuverability and very easy to fly with the added reassurance it was built like a tank, and is even aerobatic.
Airframe is fabric covered aluminum, titanium undercarriage.
These used to hold the world record in class for climb to 10k and are classed as III axis ultralights is some countries (as was originally the case here in Ireland).
