Zenith CH 200/250 - Sold thanks to Afors & LAA magazine

I am offering a virtually complete aluminium airframe of a classic Zenair Zenith ch200/250 aircraft. It includes the assembled fuselage/wings/flying stabilator and the all-flying fin. It also includes the flaps/ailerons, various bits and pieces and the Zenair supplied control column and fuselage fuel tank. No other internal fittings are included. This is an approved LAA design. The wings are yet to be closed out completely and there is a small amount of work to do immediately behind the firewall.

The project enjoys the benefit of having the rare 5-piece main spar which allows for a trailer home arrangement to apply as and when required.

I have owned the project for 7 ½ years. It was constructed in Ireland and was 1 of 5 - 45% kits imported into Ireland from Canada in the early 1980’s. It was built up to how it is shown from this pre-built kit of parts.

This project was derived from plans set 2-590 (which are part of the documents included) and it is listed as No 31 with the ILAS (similar to our LAA organisation). Up to now they have been the project controlling organisation and the project stages approved todate reflect this status.

This project is not therefore registered with the LAA - but I have no reason to believe that transferring this project across to that organisation will be an issue. Interested parties will need to look into the detail for themselves.

Whilst in my care -all I have done to this, is to tidy a few things up/vacuum the inside out and make a fuselage and wing holding jig out of wood, besides making a few coverings here and there to protect the interior.The two jigs I refer to are included in the sale. The main structural parts of this - were made by Zenair in Canada and formed part of the 45% kit, which includes the solid rivetted main spar/the wing ribs/the fuel tank and the control column.

Included in the sale - is a damaged set of upper and lower cowls from a jodel D-11 aircraft. It is best to assume these parts to be no more than useful material - to make new moulds from inorder to provide a new set of cowls for this project.
