Evans VP1 £650 ono

The airframe has now been sold

This is a Richard Husband built Evans VP1 airframe, originally built in 1973, and was flying until 10 years ago. In 1973 it won the best home build at the PFA [now LAA] rally that year.
The Evans VP1 is an open cockpit low wing aircraft and is not difficult to fly, though a tailwheel endorsement is required. She cruises at 50 to 60 knots, climbs at 50 and approaches at 50 knots. With a stock VW 1835cc engine, it burns around 12 litres per hour. Fantastic for a summer evenings flight.

The fuselage was repainted approximately 5 years ago and requires an engine. The wings, rudder and tailplane were stripped, recovered, and repainted 15 years ago. New brakes and wheels have been fitted. She is sat on her undercarriage and ready to fit the wings and an engine. This comes with the airframe logbook. I will check the airframe hours and add to this advert latter.

It has been in the same ownership since the 1990's and it is now time to move it on and someone else get her ready to fly again.

It is for sale at £650 ono for the fuselage, instruments, elevator and wings. The turtle deck has been removed, and may be included in the sale if required.

There is no engine with this project, but the engine mounts and cowls are for a Type 1 VW, though a suitable propeller is for separate sale at £200. The propeller is a Chris Lodge 57 X 32, DRW124 SRL952.
The instruments are basic, having ASI, altimeter and turn and slip, along with the rpm and oil pressure gauges.

The airframe is based at Breighton for viewing.
