15,000 - OBO

G-BOMB is a well-known and proven race plane for sale! Great value! Best offer accepted for a quick sale.

The aircraft has a strong pedigree as a champion race plane which has raced in China, Tunisia, Spain and elsewhere. It has been seen on TV around the world and flown by great race pilots.

G-BOMB has just been newly refurbished and rebuilt and in amazing condition, ready for the next chapter with a new owner.

An expert Cassutt engineer completed extensive works: all fabric was removed, the fuselage was straightened, repaired, re-fabriced. The undercarriage was straightened and rebuilt, repainted, the brakes repaired and resealed, the spats repaired and repainted, the firewall was repaired, the engine refitted. All the aircraft wiring was renewed, all the Pitot system was renewed, the fuel system improved, the engine had extensive work to return it to full airworthiness. The engineer went through the whole aircraft, with repairs to fabric on the rudder, tailplane elevator, and ailerons. The engine cowls, exhaust gasket and spinner repaired too. (Detailed time worksheets are available).

The engine is a 0-200A with an electric starter motor. All good compressions. The aircraft has been dismantled to be shipped on several occasions, which is seen as a good thing, as better airframe inspection had been carried out every time the aircraft is taken apart for shipping and reassembled.

The plane last flew on the 14th October 2020 and has 429.27 hours prior to the work being done. The engine last ran before we started the rebuild of the plane on the 26th June 2022. Now its ready for test flight. The engine has 298.47 hours since overhaul and the mags are running at 450.40, so will need their 500-hour inspection in 50 hours time.

The aircraft is assembled and in an airworthy condition outside of Birmingham, but presently the aircraft has no Permit valid. This is something the new owner should prefer to do, especially in case in a different jurisdiction.

The plane was previously bought for 20,000 pounds and then had about 15,000 pounds worth of works and refurbishments completed. So the value is nearer 35,000. However – I am only asking 15,000 pounds OBO to enable a quick sale (I am living in another country and personally can’t fly this plane, so just want it off the books).
