VW1600 engine / parts available

When I purchased my a/c, it came with a spare engine that had been rebuilt by Roger Burrows, the former inspector.

Having rebuilt the primary engine, I've scavenged a few parts off the spare and now I have a range of surplus VW parts available - most from the spare and some from the main - which are almost enough to rebuild a separate engine, or at least to get someone a good way there:

VW1600 AS41 crankcase - good condition, but happy to get checked by machine shop as needed

4 x Lucas SR4 magnetos including mounting brackets, chain etc.

Solex 30/21 carb

Fuel pump

Shrink-fit prop (provenance unknown - don't think it's a Barry Smith job, but trying to confirm)

2 x stock camshafts (1 from the spare engine, 1 from my main engine)

The crankshaft was in good condition, but on removal of the hub found damage where it hadn't been fitted correctly previously and so you're welcome to take it and see if the marking can be ground out, but should assume it's not usable.

Unfortunately, I'm unable to advise when the spare engine was last run - certainly more than 11 years ago and way prior to my purchase - so I would work on the basis that at worse case all you've got is a crankcase, best case you'll be needing new crankshaft and other miscellany (oil pump etc).
