Super Colt

We are looking at renting our Super Colt (160hp engine plus a load of other STCs such as skylight, digital engine monitoring, vortex generators and more) out for private hire and hour building.

We have just fitted a zero-timed engine and it seems a waste for it to just be used by us as a company hack. But to insure it for rental will cost a fair amount more so I'm trying to gauge interest before I upgrade the insurance.

She will be based out of Defford Croft Farm but longer flying trips or even basing it from your airfield on a week by week basis would all be possible.

We have no fuel at Croft (she drinks 100LL only due to the high-compression engine) so I think the most practical way to rent it is on a dry basis. Plus that way you can either fly high power fast(ish!) or throttle back and fly slow saving yourself more per hour in fuel costs for hour building.

My current thinking is around £95(inc VAT) per hour dry. But blocks could be bought at a discount.

Colts are really light weight so will fly throttled back sipping under 20lt/hr meaning you could build hours for as low as £140/hr.

With the 160hp and VGs she is a STOL machine so will operate out of some very short runways and grass is no issue at all.

I am an instructor so checkouts will be done with me. Full grass-strip tuition is also available as are biennials etc.
