I have decided to put G-CJTD my Merlin SSDR microlight up for sale to fund my next aircraft. The aircraft is now based on a farm strip in North Northumberland where there are three grass runways all over 500 metres in length. Previously I was based on a much smaller farm strip 6 miles south with only 2 runways of about 260 metres each which clearly demonstrates the short field capabilities of the Merlin. The aircraft is an all metal high wing monocoque and powered by a Rotax 582 Blue top with about 100 hours on both engine and airframe. My Merlin cruses happily at 5000rpm and indicates 85mph. I have owned the Merlin from new and thoroughly enjoy flying it. On the 11 August 2024 I undertook a local NavEX lasting just under two hours where I used 19 litres fuel and covered 139 miles. The flying characteristics of the Merlin are well balanced and responsive, The Merlin is an easy aircraft to fly however as it is a single seat aircraft the new buyer needs to be an experienced pilot and not a novice.
The American dealer Chip Erwin https://www.aeromarine-lsa.com/ has produced loads of videos and are well worth watching to get an overall impression of the Merlin.

The aircraft will come with the installed Trig radio and transponder if the asking price is achieved.
